FATS / Advisors

Tax returns filed right, and explained in plain English.

FATS Advisors is a CPA firm working with individuals, freelancers, and small businesses across the U.S. — from the first W-2 through partnership and corporate filings, and every IRS letter in between.

What we do

One firm for the filing, the accounting behind it, the assurance work your lenders ask for, and the follow-up when the IRS has questions.

Form 1040

Individual tax returns

Federal and multi-state returns, itemized deductions, investment and rental income, equity compensation, and returns for clients with foreign income or accounts.

1065 · 1120 · 1120-S

Business and entity returns

Partnership, S corporation, and C corporation returns, including K-1 preparation and distribution to every partner or shareholder on time.

Accounting

Bookkeeping, close, and financial statements

Categorized transactions, reconciled accounts, and a monthly profit-and-loss you can actually read — plus compiled financial statements when a bank or investor asks for them.

Audit · Review

Audits, reviews, and compilations

Independent assurance work for organizations that need it — lender and franchise requirements, nonprofit and employee benefit plan audits, and the lighter review or compilation when a full audit isn't called for.

Form 709 · 1041

Gift and fiduciary returns

Gift tax returns, including split gifts and lifetime exemption tracking, and income tax returns for trusts and estates with beneficiary K-1s prepared alongside them.

Payroll · Sales tax

Compliance filings

Payroll tax deposits and quarterly returns, year-end W-2 and 1099 filings, and sales tax registration and returns in the states where you have nexus.

IRS notices

Notice response and representation

We read the notice, tell you what it actually means, and respond on your behalf — from a CP2000 matching letter through examinations and payment arrangements.

Advisory

Planning through the year

Entity selection, reasonable compensation for S corp owners, quarterly estimate planning, and a projection before December so April holds no surprises.

Who we work with

Most of our clients come to us at a turning point — a first business year, a move across states, or a letter they didn't expect.

Individuals and families

W-2 earners with investments, rental property, or income in more than one state, and households sorting out a year that didn't look like the last one.

Freelancers and single-member LLCs

Self-employed clients who need quarterly estimates that hold up, deductions substantiated properly, and books that don't take a weekend to fix.

Small businesses and partnerships

Growing companies with payroll, multiple owners, and K-1s to issue — where the return and the bookkeeping need to agree with each other.

Working together

Three steps, and you always know which one you're in.

A conversation first

Tell us what your year looked like. We'll say what your return involves, what it costs, and whether we're the right fit — before you send a single document.

Documents, once

You get a checklist built for your situation and a secure place to upload. We chase down what's missing so you don't have to remember.

Review, file, and follow up

We walk you through the return before anything is filed, e-file it, and stay on the file afterward — notices included, at no extra charge.

Let's talk before the deadline, not after it

A first consultation is free and takes about twenty minutes. Bring last year's return if you have it handy — it usually answers half our questions.
